Spaces That Rise Early

Spaces That Rise Early

Delhi has many local markets of different kinds, one of them is the age-old flower markets of Delhi which are held in three places. One in the south of Mehrauli, one in Fatehpuri (old Delhi) and the largest flower market in Asia in Connaught Place (near hanuman mandir). These spaces rise as early as 3 a.m in morning and winds up by 10 a.m. The entire space is bustling with buying and selling of hundreds of variety of flowers. Unfortunately these markets have received eviction notice from the Delhi government and are in constant fear of re-location. This photographic research aims to document spaces like the flower market which are alive only for few hours.
